The documentary doesn't pose this question. It just allows the father to build his case. It doesn't even invite someone from Thailand - say, a diplomat, a respected lawyer - to talk about it.
Then comes the crime. This is a salacious story, and requires a lot of attention to explain what was going on between the victim and killer. Where are the phone messages? Have they ever met before? Has anyone seen them, or heard of, or even a friend stating he never knew about that side of his? Nothing.
