Billy Eichner is out there hustling trying to sell this movie and after seeing it, I can see why. He’s clearly poured a lot of himself into this. It has a touching and sincere message of acceptance (of self and others) but even more-so, it’s just a daringly funny rom-com, probably unlike anything you’ve seen before.
I have to admit this first 5-10 minutes are a bit rough. Some of the humor didn’t land, performances felt wooden and the score/music felt noticeably mismatched to the scene. Thankfully, the film settles in and really finds it’s groove after that. Really funny stuff. Great cameo from Debra Messing, too.
