Nic Cage pulp at its best, droning attempt at a wasted premise at worst. I enjoyed my time enough with this one about half the time, but never fails to feel like it was wasting my time when Nic wasn't on the screen--which was often. The kid actors do a serviceable job and the final sequence at the home almost great if not for the utterly atrocious pacing; with the speculative nature of the entire concept practically demanding camp, its a shame how little the film leaned into the potential of the concept and simply settled for a boring retread of a film I've seen a hundred times before.
