While some may view Speed Racer as an unrefined, live action manga without much depth, I strongly disagree. Speed Racer is a work of art which unabashedly lives in its own world but somehow feels relatable with its many themes and deep emotional roots. The racing, color pallet, and technology are about as far from reality as possible but the family relationships, coming-of-age struggles, and large corporate corruption feel as real to the viewer as they do to the Racer Family. A true masterpiece.
