Wes Anderson has been one of my favorite directors since I was a kid. Every time a new Anderson movie comes out it is an event for me. Phoenician Scheme didn't disappoint, all the quirky characters, dialogue, precise cinematography and set decorations were all there in peak form. Without a doubt the biggest standout performance was Michael Cera's Bjorn, he was made for an Anderson movie, hopefully he makes his way into more Wes movies in the future. Funniest scene was teased in the trailer, it involves basketball, Tom Hanks and Bryan Cranston. It had my packed theater laughing in unison. Last but not least Benicio Del Toro is on screen nearly the entire runtime and he carries the whole endeavor perfectly. For Wes fans this a must watch at the show. I loved it and can't wait to get my hands on the inevitable release of the Criterion 4K.
