I laughed so hard I cried, and I cried so hard I laughed.
Not really sure if there were more laughs than tears throughout my watch, but what I can say is that the emotional range of this story feels like the warmest hug you'll ever get. It's heavily focused on the aspect of family, specifically those who we consider chosen family and the impact they can have in our own lives.
The cast is absolutely phenomenal. Barbie Ferreira is the standout through an extraordinary, layered performance, but John Leguizamo is pitch perfect as a kind man making an unexpected friend on the internet.
Not to sound crazy, but this is definetely worthy of many Oscar nominations for next year's award season. It's captivating from star to finish, never afraid to tackle the hard subjects with honesty and unpredictably askew. Bring a box of tissues, seriously.
