Someone is killing off nubile real-estate agents. A psychologist doing a therapy talk show begins to get calls from the perpetrator, and cooperates with the police to try to stop him. Unfortunately, his lover is a real-estate agent, and when it becomes clear that the madman is getting information for his kills from her discarded house listings, they both become endangered.

These are how I like my slashers- brainless and simple with frequent kills and ample nudity. Bonus points if the kills are gory in a fun sense and creative. Open House checks off all my personal requirements to make for a fun slasher. Just about all the kills are interesting, varying between electrocution to hanging and even a simple slash using a wooden rod with razor blades protruding from the end. I think Open House was toying with brief giallo elements which keep things more mysterious. The run time is a little on the longer side and could had been trimmed which is my only real criticism but that's easy to look past when the kills are as well done as they are and smokeshows Adrienne Barbeau and Mary Stavin are looking so fine.
