Lets be honest - This is here for nostalgia reasons. Its pretty objectively bad, and has all the hallmarks of the typical 1980s TV "Night of 1000 stars extravaganza" special. But its like The Room: it's so bad it circles right back to being good. I mean, Sammy Davis Jr is in the caterpillar. And there is whole ass BIZARRE clamshell ballet that goes on way too long. It's basically everyone famous from the mid 70s acting the absolute hell out of this movie. I remember when this aired live. America went CRAZY for it. People stayed HOME to watch it.
