Undercover (La Infiltrada) is a gripping and quietly harrowing thriller based on the true story of Aranzazu Berradre, a young national police officer who, at just 20, infiltrated ETA under a false identity. When she's asked to house two operatives preparing attacks, she faces an impossible task: maintain her cover and pass intel to her superiors, all while living alongside men who would kill her if they knew the truth.
Carolina Yuste delivers a riveting, emotionally layered performance as Arantxa, capturing the daily dread and psychological toll of deep-cover work. Comparisons to The Departed are fair in tone, but Undercover trades shootouts for whispered conversations and coded glances—an atmosphere of sustained tension that never lets up.
It’s a chilling portrait of sacrifice and survival, and a powerful reminder of the real cost of living a lie in the name of justice.
