The Greatest American Hero

The Greatest American Hero
The chronicles of teacher Ralph Hinkley's adventures after a group of aliens gives him a red suit that gives him superhuman abilities. Unfortunately, Ralph, who hates wearing the suit, immediately loses its instruction booklet, and thus has to learn how to use its powers by trial and error, often with comical results.

Saw this one for the first time on English Sky Channel TV in the late '80s, late teens, flipping through channels and landed on a guy in a red suit crashing into walls.
Ralph Hinkley gets alien tech that gives him superpowers… but loses the instruction manual.
The result? Flying like a brick, awkward landings and powers that work when they feel like it.
Robert Culp plays the grumpy FBI handler and together they stumble through crime fighting with zero finesse.
It’s part superhero spoof, part buddy comedy and part accidental wisdom.
The theme song (“Believe It or Not”) still hits and the show had that early '80s optimism wrapped in polyester and plot holes.
Watched it with a mix of “this is ridiculous” and “I kinda love it.”
