This movie is visually stunning and about a futuristic Pinocchio who is on a quest to find happiness and love, while experiencing what it is like to be human. Haley Joel Osment gives an incredible and very subtle performance in this visionary, profound, thought-provoking, and somber underrated gem. There is this underlying strangeness throughout the movie, because it combines Stanley Kubrick's bleakness with Steven Spielberg's sentimentality. In the end I think we all are on the same quest!
