Pleasantly surprised!
I was looking forward to seeing The Mummy, I thought it had potential to be really awesome but I wouldn't have been surprised if it completely sucked. Luckily I really enjoyed the movie!
It's not perfect by no means but still a very enjoyable ride.
Tom Cruise was great in the role! I found his smug /rogue character extremely likeable, funny, and badass. Man does he get his ass kicked most the movie! The rest of the cast is fine except Jake Johnson. Annoying, unfunny, and felt the urge to shout every line of dialogue.
The action is thrilling at times. By now, we all have seen the plane sequence 100 times in the trailer. It was still thrilling to watch the full scene!
I was surprised by the amount of humor that was in this! Not all of it worked, but the 70% that did, nailed it. The horror was also heavily present, which mixed nicely with the film.
I really liked the ending and the Dark Universe it's setting up. This universe has real potential and that's exciting!
