Watching a superhero movie through a kaleidoscope.
Doctor Strange is a little disappointing to me. With all the crazy awesome visuals this film has its story is very safe. Benedict Cumberbatch is great in the role and he'll make a fine addition to the Marvel universe. I thought that the first act was a little clunky and that the pacing was always off by just a little bit. This film also has a lot of exposition. I understand that this movies out there and they felt the need to overcompensate and explain the world through exposition. The last negative l have for this film is that it's humor doesn't always work. And I'm not saying that this film is it funny, it really is, my problem is that during awesome moments of action they decide to throw humor into it and it takes away from the epicness. The one thing that had me angry about this is that the trailers had this amazing electronic score and in the film the music is just bland Marvel. Rachel McAdams was used perfectly in this. I also thought the villain was pretty cool I just wish we got more of him. I found it to be an enjoyable watch. Loved the mid credit sequence and can't wait to see more of the character.
