On their way to a new destination, a young investigator, Seva Pashin, turns out to be a murder suspect. In the provincial Ensk, the case is transferred to the CSS, the hero's father, Major General Evgeniy Aleksandrovich, is furious. He sent his son from Moscow to become a man, and he again got into trouble. The general gives Seva two days to sort things out. An overwhelming task is made possible thanks to a strange character from the local police department - a crime photographer nicknamed Pykha. With him, Seva quickly finds the real killer. Impressed by Pykha's abilities, Seva begs his father to help him stay in Ensk.
