The road tells the story of an 11-year-old boy, Daniel "El Mochuelo", who has been enrolled in a school in the city and will have to leave the town where he grew up forever. The night before his departure for the city, Daniel remembers his childhood and the stories of the inhabitants of the valley in which he grew up.
