Kyutaro is a swordsman who was feared by people at one time. Now, he is poor and lives alone quietly. Kyutaro doesn't know how to earn money without using his sword. By chance, Sakichi happens to see Kyutaro's swordsmanship and offers to hire him for a job.

The new landlady is suspecting something and her senses are quickly confirmed; however, the situation is luckily resolved and there may even be an upside in it for our samurai.

Folge #2.3There is a notice up for the capture of a cruel animal killer except, oh well, not all is as it seems. In the meanwhile somewhere in town a man's skin begins to itch necessitating a trip to a pet shop. Soon enough a cat is getting bathed.

Folge #2.4The tenant and his landlady have a potential big clash, but disaster is averted in the last minute. Where there was one problem there is soon potentially two problems. That is how our brave samurai becomes a shopkeeper.

Folge #2.5The pet owner needs money. There is a pet contest. It all makes sense when the cat is so popular and cat after all. No one asked the cat however and he seems to have made up his own mind otherwise. Then here is the matter of honour and a challenge. Even bribery does not seem to work.

The samurai is searching the town for his cat without luck until an odd job leads him to a haunted location he was warned by a holy man not to enter. There he finds more than he bargained for, but will it help him reunite with Tama?

Folge #2.7The cat is not behaving well and it may be due to a disease. The owner is advised that the cat needs medicine, but that costs money. When an attempt at a scam does not work out as planned, it is time to head up the mountain.

Folge #2.8There is a solution for hunger. Grow your own food, cook it and eat. The problem arises when the recipe causes aches, hallucination and more. Strange behaviour ensues and involved is a man, a cat, a landlady, a store owner and the suitor.

Folge #2.9How can a homeless man take care of his beloved pet cat? What is more the cat wants to go home and cannot bear the new abode. Enter an opened heart, crayfish, radishes and a job refused. Is there a happy ending?

Folge #2.10When mother-in-law arrives in town armed with a cane, a choice and an ultimatum she makes demands and asks for a decision as soon as she is freed from jail. Searching for a job the samurai leaves the cat in the care of the friendly shop owner. Little does he reckon the feline is coveted elsewhere.
