Auf dem Kontinent Polyphonica materialisieren Geister durch die Musik, die von Menschen, sogenannten Dantisten, gespielt wird. Diese können einen Vertrag mit ihnen eingehen und sie durch bestimmte Instrumente, die One-Man Orchestras, beeinflussen. Dabei wirkt sich der Gemütszustand und Kondition des Dantisten auch stark auf den Geist aus.

Die Geschichte dreht sich um Phoron Tatara, einen Dantisten zu seinen Anfängerzeiten, der aufgrund eines Versprechens einen Vertrag mit einem der stärksten Geister schließt, Corticarte Apa Lagranges.

Misterioso: Chance MeetingCorticarte Apa Lagranges is being chased by other spirits, as she try to get away from them, young Phoron is singing alone on the top of the roof. Corticarte heard his singing and is healed by it, she fly to see who is singing it and finds Phoron. Corticarte reveals she wants him all for herself because of his pure heart and ask if he could sing only for her. Corticarte try to make a contract with him, but is interrupted by the spirits that were chasing her. We are back in the present and Phoron is cleaning the canteen of the university. Dantist are people who summon spirit through music, Phoron decided to be a Dantist after he met Corticarte, but being a Dantist, he cannot summon any spirit. Phoron try one more time to summon spirit through his One-Man Orchestra piano, but is unable to. He puts down the One-Man Orchestra, and remembers Corticarte saying "Nice song". He decided then to sing the same song he sanged that night Corticarte appeared in front of him.

Piangendo: LabyrinthPhoron has a commandia performance tomorrow and is deeply worried by Corticate. During the performance students made remarks towards him causing Corticate to lose it. Phoron uses Divine song to calm her but actually angers her.

Loco: OathPhoron feels Coaticarte's absence intensely and begins to lose hope. Coaticarte finally gets her nickname, and it is hinted that it may be up to Phoron to save the world.

Rubato: Secret ManeuverThe Academy gets an important visitor named Raika, and Yufi's first instincts appear to be correct. Raika discovers Coatie's presence at the school, which is valuable information for the Strangers of Lament.

Feroce: SchemePhoron receives a love note, which may be a trap, and it turns out that Coatie once had another name: The Crimson Princess of Destruction.

Affetuoso: Twin SoulsDanguise recovers. Peruce reveals her past and why Prine is weak. Later, Prine reveals that there is more to her than anyone expected, and it causes Peruce to question everything about her life to this point.

Ambition: MarcatoThe Instruments of Creation are all obtained by the Strangers of Lament. Coatie knows what is going to happen and reveals the intentions of the Strangers. Phoron is ordered to use Coatie as a weapon.

Attack: RisolutoWith an intense battle looming, Coatie's only fear is that Phoron will leave her if he knows the whole truth about her past. Coatie knows where to find the Score, but she does not want to say it.

Hope: VivaceIt's "the beginning of the end," and Phoron steps in to play the song that first united him with Coatie in an attempt to save her life. The power may be strong enough to save the entire world. Later, the day Pholon has waited for finally arrives.
