- Charles London17. Februar 2025All right I will admit it, I'm a Frasier-phile. All 264 episodes watched, rewatched and watched again. I need help. If only there was someone I could call, a radio pyschiatrist perhaps. The show had me at the first title card and 30 years later has yet to let go. The intelligent writing, razor-sharp wit, lovable neurotic characters, and brain-tickling dialogs have taken their toll on me and I never want them to stop. What is a boy to do? Suddenly I'm hungry for a tossed salad and some scrambled eggs, perhaps a nice sherry would be the perfect garnish.

Die US-amerikanische Sitcom ist ein Ableger der Comedyserie „Cheers“ und dreht sich um das Leben des exzentrisch-intelligenten Psychologen Dr. Frasier Crane, der nach seiner Scheidung wieder in seine Heimatstadt Seattle zieht. Dort bekommt er eine eigene Radiosendung, in der er den Hörern psychologische Ratschläge gibt und sich mit seiner ständig auf Männersuche befindlichen Aufnahmeleiterin herumschlagen muss. In seiner neuen, mit zahlreichen Kunstgegenständen und antikem Mobiliar eingerichteten Wohnung kommt einiges anders als erwartet, als er plötzlich seinen rustikalen Vater Martin einen Ex-Polizisten, aufnehmen muss, der durch eine Schussverletzung nicht mehr richtig gehen kann und auf die Hilfe seines Sohnes angewiesen ist. Er bringt seinen Hund mit – was Frasier zusätzliche Nerven kostet, da er keine Tiere mag und erst Recht in seiner noblen Wohnung keine Lust auf sabbernde Tölen hat. Und weil Frasiers Vater täglich Krankengymnastik machen muss, zieht auch gleich noch eine persönliche Physiotherapeutin mit ein, in die sich wiederum Frasiers Bruder Niles verliebt. Dieser kommt regelmäßig zu Besuch und liefert sich mit Frasier ein permanentes Status-Duell, bei dem es darum geht, wer von beiden das höhere Ansehen und die besseren Kontakte hat.
