- SeshStreamingvor 7 TagenLove the return of the Miami vibes. New Dexter actor did amazing, As well as most of the cast.
- Carl Brutananadilewski2. April 2026Everyone in this plays the part perfectly. This show was robbed from fans and these actors by being cancelled. Seamless entry in the Dexter Saga
- Hipster ZOMBIE18. Februar 2025Dexter Original Sin delivers a fun prequel series to the original Dexter series. Michael C Hall returns as the inner dark passenger voice of young Dexter portrayed pitch perfect by Patrick Gibson. In fact it’s uncanny how the cast looks so much like their older selves. Especially Christina Milian and James Martinez who play Maria LaGueta and Angel Batista. But it’s Molly Brown’s turn as Debra Morgan who steals most of the spotlight with her wit and imaginative way of incorporating f Bombs in every episode. The first season delivers an enthralling murder mystery involving a child killer whose actions hit home hard for the Morgan household. Christian Slater’s resurgence continues as he takes on the role as Harry Morgan, the adopted father of Dexter who teaches him the code. Killing bad guys: good and killing innocents: bad. Overall it’s a fun 90s throwback with characters we love. Highly recommended.
- Hakihiko24. September 2025A Strong Prequel "Dexter: Original Sin" is a commendable entry into the Dexter franchise-one that balances nostalgia with fresh elements in a way that's often engaging, even if it isn't consistently sharp. The biggest win here is the casting. Patrick Gibson as young Dexter captures the awkwardness and inner turmoil well, evoking just enough of Michael C. Hall's original without feeling like a mere imitation. Christian Slater as Harry adds weight to Dexter's formative years, and the younger versions of characters like Deb, Batista, and Laguerta are well chosen and frequently convincing. The tone is one of the series' stronger assets. While "Original Sin" doesn't reinvent the franchise, it recalls enough of the original's dark humor, tension, and moral complexity to satisfy longtime fans. The show does a good job of exploring Dexter's early impulses and the uneasy mentorship with Harry. It's clear there's effort put in to make this more than just an origin story. That said, there are flaws. The pacing can be uneven-some episodes feel packed with meaningful character moments, whereas others drag or over-rely on flashbacks or exposition. Also, because it's a prequel, there's less tension in certain story arcs: we know where Dexter ends up, which limits surprises. Overall, "Dexter: Original Sin" is a strong prequel-good performances, enjoyable tone, and plenty of moments that bring back what made Dexter memorable. It doesn't quite match the high bar of the original's early seasons, but it delivers more hits than misses.
- Kain5. September 2025i’m gonna miss this show
- Depace27. April 2025Loved the show, but the original was better.
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ26. März 2026I need to start off this review by saying how much I absolutely loved Dexter. I loved it so much that I've watched it all the way through several times and was never bored. Then came Dexter: New Blood in 2021 and even though it wasn't as good as the original I still enjoyed it.
- naren shenoy3. März 2026The prequel that I was not necessarily thrilled about when it was announced, but I got to say it was entertaining. I prefer Resurrection to this one, but I’ll give it props for the actors that played Batista, La Guerta and Masuko. They nailed it. Particularly Batista. The actor sounded just like the OG. Christian Slater kind of missed the mark for me here, he didn’t have the gravitas I was expecting. But maybe that was by design? Dexter’s memory of Harry was likely better than the reality of the man? And wasn’t a huge fan of Debs in the original, and nothing has changed here. Her character is written as such that I believe this is what she would have been like, but I felt her actress, other than dropping f bombs everywhere, did not really nail the mannerisms of OG Deb. Again, see the kid that plays Batista. All in all, I would have liked to see the lead in to season 1 of Dexter, but I guess we have to fill in the blanks.
- tcnpq230. Dezember 2025How the hell do I watch it here??
- Danny Potter-Jones28. Dezember 2025It's not perfect but it's still good. You definitely feel vibes from the original series as soon as you meet the younger versions of the team. Very minor issue which you can't really argue about they changed the appearance of Dexter's dad Harry somebody else is playing him they didn't even cast somebody who looked like him. Deb and Matthews are the real issue for me Deborah is two girly she was never like that in the original series she was pretty much a daddy's girl but she was also a tomboy and where the f*** is Matthews!? I thought he was meant to be Dexter's dad's friend? Patrick Gibson is really good at giving Dexter vibes I just wish he could have played Dexter's son in the modern series he's so believable that he could be Dexter or be related to him.
- Finlay Best12. August 2025An interesting addition to the Dexter franchise. Most of the recast was spot on.
- grantss2. August 2025Good but not in the same league as the original series. 7/10 Before there was Dexter Morgan, vigilante serial killer, there was Dexter Morgan, pre-med student. We see how Dexter developed into the killer we know, the part his traumatic childhood played and his relationships with his father, Harry, and sister, Deb. I was a big fan of the original Dexter series though the final season, especially the final episode, took the shine off somewhat. To my surprise I enjoyed the sequel, Dexter: New Blood, though it didn’t have the same content nor vibe as the original series. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this series and was initially quite pleasantly surprised as this series seemed to blend quite seamlessly into the original series. It has the same eerie theme music, roughly the same intro, the same vibe. It even has Michael C Hall (Dexter in the original series) narrating, just like in the original! However, after a very impressive first episode, the quality and engagement drop off somewhat, though not enough to make it unwatchable. Patrick Gibson, who plays the young Dexter, is no Michael C Hall. His Dexter schtick seems forced, like he is trying to be weird for the sake of it. He quickly irritated me and by the end of the first season my engagement with his character was quite limited. Adding to this is some uneven, sloppy writing. The broader story arc is okay and there’s some great sub-plots (e.g. Brian Moser) but there’s scenes and sub-plots which are really clumsy and contrived, some to the point of being laughably stupid. I was also hoping for more a build-up before Dexter becomes a killer, to show the conflict within him and to slowly develop his character, but the series launches into that almost straight away. Overall, it’s reasonably entertaining. It’s also quite disappointing as after Episode 1 this felt like it had the potential to come close to, if not equal, the original series.
- Billy Zane7. Mai 2025They really made it feel like an extension of the original with the same music and using Michael C Hall as the voiceover. Can’t wait for season 2!
- Jillian Broek25. April 2025Love the Dexter series and this one delivers! Patrick Gibson is FANTASTIC as a young Dexter. All the mannerisms are spot on. Can't wait for next season.
- Edward9. März 2025Dexter is back! As opposed to Dexter New Blood where it felt like the authors were just using the name to do their own thing, Original Sin takes us back to what made Dexter fantastic. Casting choices are spot on from top to bottom. Christian Slater and Sarah Michelle Gellar are welcomed additions.
- Scott Phelps2. März 2025Excellent nostalgia and homage to the original Dexter, interested to see how all avenues of the prequel stories play out.
- Michiel15. Februar 2025Great TV Show bringing some background story to the Dexter phenomenon. Great casting, story and everything. Hoping for a second season 😀
- DOAN FSD14. Dezember 2024I love ANYTHING Dexter!
