Ex-Häftling und Meisterdieb Lucas Hood nimmt die Identität des Sheriffs von Banshee im Amischen-Staat Pennsylvania an. Seine ehemalige Geliebte und Komplizin Ana, die sich nun Carrie nennt, lebt ebenfalls in Banshee. Der von den beiden betrogene Boss der ukrainischen Mafia Mr. Rabbit will Rache für gestohlene Diamanten. Gleichzeitig sorgt in Banshee Kai Procter, ein verstoßenes, ehemaliges Mitglied der Amischen für rauhe Sitten: durch illegales Glücksspiel, Drogen und Bestechung.

The story is unbelievable. The action, fights (some of the best choreographed fights ever in any medium), sex, language are all WAY over the top, but that is what set this show apart from anything else on television and what makes it so worth watching.
