And he does not want to give up his beloved work, to which he gave half his life. But there can be no question of returning to the previous place of work, his place has long been occupied. General Khlopin offers him the position of head of the department for solving crimes of past years, the so-called "paper department". Khlopin is sure that Ozerskiy will refuse, but that was not the case. At the new place of work, four subordinates are already waiting for him, as well as packs of dusty, long-abandoned cases.
