Attack on the PopeStaffel 1
"Attack on the Pope," airing in two episodes on Rai 1 from April 6, 1986, reconstructs the assassination attempt suffered by John Paul II on May 13, 1981, through the fast-paced montage of archival footage and fictional images. Also of great realism is the resemblance between the protagonist and the real bomber Mehmet Ali Agca. The screenplay is penned by director Giuseppe Fina together with Sandro Petraglia and Stefano Rulli.
