In der Miniserie „Ascension“ geht es um ein gleichnamiges Raumschiff und dessen Besatzung. Das Schiff wurde im Jahr 1963 von der US-Regierung insgeheim mit einer mehrere Hundert Menschen umfassenden, gemischten Besatzung aus Männern, Frauen und Kindern ins All geschickt worden. Missionsziel: Bei der Ankunft nach knapp 100 Jahren soll die Besatzung einen neuen Planeten besiedeln.

But the story gets a bit messy as it goes, with uneven pacing and a few underdeveloped characters. Still, it's a fun, different kind of sci-fi—worth a watch if you like your space dramas with a twist.
