Mobarez Javanmard is an Iranian-Canadian writer, director, producer, and author based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Active in independent filmmaking since the early 2000s, his work spans fiction, documentary, and experimental cinema. His films include The Dance of the Rabbits, Poetry with the Taste of Ice Cream, If Eyes Could Speak, and STILL: A Version.
Javanmard is the founder of Javanmard Cinema Inc., an independent production company based in Canada. Alongside his filmmaking practice, he has developed Cinema of Denial, a theoretical framework examining stabilization, repetition, duration, and continuity within systems of representation.
He continues to write, direct, and develop independent film and publishing projects in Canada.
