März 2026Untitled Home Invasion Romance is the kind of dark rom-com that takes a few minutes to warm up, but once it decides where it’s going and how far it’s willing to push, the ride becomes deliciously strange. Credit to Jason Biggs, who proves he has a sharp eye behind the camera. His direction leans into the film’s offbeat tone without winking too hard at the audience. The real engine here, though, is Meaghan Rath. She carries most of the film on her shoulders and absolutely owns the third act, navigating the story’s tonal tightrope with confidence and bite. Yes, the twist might register as predictable for seasoned movie sleuths, but the film sells it well enough that the landing still works. Better yet, the ending leaves just enough room for interpretation, the cinematic equivalent of a raised eyebrow and a sly smile. Short version: odd, dark, and sneakily charming. Stick with it. The payoff is worth the break-in.
