Unknown Identity Rezensionen & Wertungen
- M08Y17. Oktober 2025A decent little action-thriller that is about 30mins longer than it should be. Unknown isn't exactly high art, but it's better than Taken 2 and Taken 3. It's a competently made film that doesn't take many risks but doesn't go far wrong as a result. There really isn't much to say about the plot without giving away the only plot twist (plot curve really). The action scenes are fairly smooth flowing unlike the choppy nightmare of Taken 3 but some of the explosion special effects are laughable. The film looks and sounds absolutely fine.
- Manuel Frangis25. Mai 2025I just watched Unknown and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie had me locked in from the first scene and never let go. It is one of those thrillers where every time you think you have it figured out, something shifts and you are right back to questioning everything. It reminded me how much fun it is to be completely caught off guard. This is not just some basic action movie. It has a mystery at the center that keeps twisting and building until the final moments. I loved every second of it. Liam Neeson is incredible in this role. He plays a man who wakes up from a car crash only to find out that someone else has taken over his identity. Right away, that idea pulls you in. The fear, the confusion, the desperation, it is all there in his performance. You feel it with him. He is not just playing another action hero. He is a man trying to figure out what is real, who he can trust, and why no one believes him. It is such a grounded performance, and that makes the suspense even stronger. What really worked for me was the pace. There is no dragging, no wasted time. Every scene moves the story forward or adds tension. Whether it is a quiet conversation that makes you rethink everything or a sudden chase through the streets of Berlin, it all matters. The movie knows how to build pressure, and it keeps doing it in new ways. The more you learn, the more questions you have, and that is what makes a thriller great. The setting adds a lot too. Berlin is cold, sharp, and unfamiliar. That adds to the feeling of being lost. It is not just about one man’s confusion. It is about how a place can swallow you up when no one knows who you are or cares what you are saying. That loneliness comes through in so many scenes. It feels like the city is part of the story. Diane Kruger is amazing too. Her role is important, and she gives it so much strength. Her character could have easily been forgettable, but she brings this depth that makes you care about her choices. The chemistry between her and Liam Neeson is believable. They are both trying to survive, and you feel the stakes. The cinematography is sharp and helps tell the story. There are moments where the camera lingers just long enough to make you nervous, and other times where it moves fast because the tension demands it. The action is real and intense without feeling fake or overdone. You are never pulled out of the story by something too flashy. It all feels grounded. The ending lands perfectly. It pulls all the pieces together in a way that makes sense but still leaves you thinking. That is what a good thriller does. It makes you question what you just saw, even when the answers are finally clear. I give Unknown 5 out of 5 stars because it gave me exactly what I want from a thriller. It is smart, emotional, fast, and full of tension. Liam Neeson proves again why he is so good at roles like this, and the story keeps you on edge from beginning to end. It is a wild ride that actually has something to say, and it is a movie I will definitely be rewatching.
