In which appear two young men, a girl and her irritable eccentric father. The young men, Tom and Jerry, denied the privilege of calling, resort to strategy. Disguised as a butler and governess, they are accepted by the father when the latter advertises for help. Their love ventures in these capacities are successful until jealousy on Jerry's part brings their joke to an end. Tom feels the wrath of the father, and Jerry is found in such a ridiculous position that the father's wrath, in spite of himself, gives way to the ludicrous spectacle and a general handshake follows.
