The Long Walk - Todesmarsch
The Long Walk - Todesmarsch Rezensionen & Wertungen
- stuhannaford30. März 2026An interesting look at the long road of life. The concept of freedom, control of choice, the never ending slog, the deterioration of hope... in a nutshell, the illusion and disillusion of life itself. The desire to ascend from the enforced churn and be amongst the key holders with promises of wealth and fortune, whilst watching those around you, loved ones or not, get left behind, literally at the side of the road. A sad and dystopian look at modern reality... however, I felt it really struggled in its metaphor to perhaps highlight enough meaning in blind ignorance. Whilst the friends keep each other going, it suggests little more than that in real life, which is most certainly at odds with the simple pleasures most of us enjoy each day, whilst not perhaps celebrating them with enthusiasm. A cynical look at mundane life against the oppression of those living in wealth and power... which from the pen of a multi millionaire, perhaps misses the point of the miracle of everyday life, living in riches or not. What is it 'they' say about the journey and destination?

- hadmatter5. Oktober 2025The Long Walk (2025) channels the tension and survival stakes of The Hunger Games but grounds them in a far more believable world. It’s gritty, haunting, and uncomfortably plausible — the kind of story that makes you wonder if society could really come to this. What sets it apart is its heart. Amid the desperation and endurance, compassion and empathy still flicker through the darkness, reminding you that even in humanity’s worst moments, decency tries to survive. A powerful, thought-provoking film that lingers long after the credits roll.
- jkljlk11975. März 2026“The dead are orphans. No company but the silence like a moth's wing. An end to the agony of movement, to the long nightmare of going down the road.”

- Walter Jospeh Kovacs28. Oktober 2025What a grave metaphor for the rat race that is the American Dream. Everything is there from poverty and desperation, the lottery of fortune, the blind obedience to social doctrine and the overarching threat of violence from the military. The police state depicted in the movie is very poignant in a time of authoritarianism in America where masked ICE agents are grabbing people on the basis of skin colour and violence is used to enforce political ideologies uninhibited by the law or even just human decency, Of course the eye cannot see itself and thus this will be wasted on most Americans as just another movie "with cool guns and sh!t" but time again movies like this and 'Civil War' are holding up a mirror to US Imperialism and fascist policies.
- eyeofthetornado21. Oktober 2025In The Long Walk, Stephen King crafts a dystopian ordeal that exposes how the illusion of choice sustains systems of control. On the surface, the boys choose to participate in the Walk, but once it begins, every step is dictated by rigid rules, constant surveillance, and the threat of death. Their supposed freedom quickly dissolves into obedience. The march becomes a microcosm of dictatorship and capitalism, systems that promise opportunity while trapping individuals in cycles of exhaustion and fear. The “choice” to walk mirrors society’s illusion of free will under oppressive power: you can play the game, but the game is designed to break you. Yet amid this despair, the walkers discover something the system cannot control, friendship and empathy. These fleeting connections remind them of their humanity, even as the structure around them insists they’re nothing more than competitors. Ultimately, The Long Walk shows that the greatest cruelty isn’t physical death, it’s the false promise of freedom that keeps people walking toward it.
- juliencharette122. Oktober 2025It’s… a long walk… indeed… literally walking… and talking… for 2 hours… Someone occasionally gets shot, the ending is bad and uneventful, no twist and no payoff. I could’ve walked for 2 hours in circles in my bedroom and i would’ve enjoyed myself much more. Waste of time !
- neuroparadox22. Oktober 2025One of the best dystopian movies about a road since The Road.
- bSHU198925. Oktober 2025I have never been this viscerally affected by a movie. I’m a huge King fan and I was looking forward to seeing this - but I don’t think anyone can prepare you for this. A MUST WATCH.
- Timeless Cinema18. September 2025Dark story aside, the repetitious moments takes away from the great acting & characters. The ending is a bit lackluster too. Overall, it was ok.
- mrx921. Oktober 2025Film of the year
- faanet31. Oktober 2025SAD but Great Movie... Must Watch.
- cultfilmliker12. September 2025They Shoot Rabbits, Don’t They? Who poops once a week??? I imagine a bit of the cheese I got from this was taken directly from the book so it probably gets a pass. Yes, Stephen. Reading is for nerds. It’s cool tho just own it. And yes my biggest complaint about this film is that it objectively needs subtitles (when none were provided) lmao Glad I crippled myself so I can never be drafted
- DTSaito22. November 2025I came away from “The Long Walk” genuinely surprised by how much it stuck with me. I went in expecting a straightforward survival story, but what I got instead was something far more emotional, almost like “Stand By Me” in the way it uses a journey to peel back layers of fear, friendship, and vulnerability. I found myself rooting for the characters not because they were heroic, but because they felt real and worn down in ways I recognized. By the end, the story hit me harder than I expected, leaving me with that quiet, lingering feeling you get from a tale that knows exactly where to press. I honestly loved it.
