- eif99912. August 2025It’s kind of amazingly that I haven’t seen or even heard of this. It’s a top shelf 40’s noir in a sunny 80s resort town. Brown is so comfortable in this compared to his American movies from around the same time where he comes across as cool but not this cool. I can taste the salt water and smell what the these dive bars probably stank like. The film places you you in this vacation town and I want more of it. Brown is a perfect 80s Aussie Bogart and it’s a shame this wasn’t a series. The clunky car chases and a surfer murder are highlights.
