- Niztradamus5. März 2026I have heard a lot of things about this movie. It was supposed to be scary, a true horror moviie but as I was to find out, it isn't. This is a story about war times and greed. A story that has supernatural elements but the horror stems from the living. Regardless of that, this movie is stiill pretty good. Even though released this millenium it feels like a movie from the 60s or 70s. If you like that style you'll love it. I understand that all of that sounds pretty negative but I don't think these points really detract from the fact, that the Devil's Backbone is a good movie with an excellent story to tell.

Spanien 1939. Der zehnjährige Carlos, Sohn eines gefallenen Republikaners, wird der Obhut eines Kinderheimes für Bürgerkriegswaisen in der Provinz überstellt. Schnell lernt Carlos, dass seine neue Umgebung so manches Geheimnis birgt, doch muss er sich zunächst in der Hackordnung innerhalb der Knabengemeinschaft behaupten, bevor man gemeinsam dem Rätsel einer nächtlichen Geistererscheinung auf den Grund gehen kann. Unterdessen plant der zornige Hausmeister des Heimes, persönliche Rache mit einem einträglichen Raubzug zu verquicken.
