This is an enjoyable film that takes you back to 1970s Los Angeles apartment living, specifically floor 8 and all its residents. Though there is very little overarching conflict, each of the inhabitants does have their own struggles that intertwine as the film plays out. The gay character is integrated into the story prominently, which is surprising for 1977 and was one of the better storylines in the film. Although it was intended as a TV pilot, it wraps up all the storylines by the end of the episode (perhaps that's one of the reasons it wasn't greenlit to series). It reminds me a bit of an anthology film with the different storylines, but they are interwoven quite well. I really felt like I was transported back to the 1970s watching television when viewing this. It is a brisk watch and a good time if you want something simple from the 1970s to watch and be transported away from the carnage of the 21st century. Give it a try, you might want to move into Terrace Towers yourself.
