Always got their finger on the pulse This is so high-octane when it doesn’t need to be and I love it. The aggressive directorial approach really nails it. That car wash scene is massive. I wanna know if Dinah’s fall tryna get on the bus was real bc that looked like it HURT The third act is just so good. Man I already miss James Ransone. So funny in this. RIP
- Kevin Ward4. Juli 2025Serendipitously, I started this on Christmas not realizing it’s a Christmas movie. Sean Baker films always have a documentary feel to them — unfiltered aesthetic with an unflinching camera capturing people and places not typically featured on the big screen. That style is particularly prevalent in this film as it’s shot completely on iPhone. (Iphone 5s if google is to be believed). Mya Taylor and Kitana Kiki Rodriguez are magnetic and though the chaos and drama of their lifestyle propels the film, it’s really at it’s best when the two of them are sharing in the quieter moments, especially that final scene.

Es ist Heiligabend in Los Angeles, doch statt Besinnlichkeit und Nächstenliebe beschäftigen die transsexuelle Prostituierte Sin-Dee ganz andere Dinge. Nach ihrer achtundzwanzig tägigen Haftstrafe trifft sie sich beschwingt mit ihrer Freundin Alexandra, die ebenfalls als Prostituierte arbeitet. Doch ihre anfängliche Euphorie schwindet als sie erfährt, dass ihr Zuhälter, der gleichzeitig auch ihr Geliebter ist, sie mit einer anderen Frau betrügt. Statt klein beizugeben beschließen die beiden den untreuen Freund und seine neue Gespielin aufzusuchen und es ihnen heimzuzahlen. Schon auf dem Weg dorthin geht es tumultartig zu zwischen den Freundinnen, doch Sin-Dee lässt sich durch Nichts von ihrem Vorhaben abbringen.
