Regie Ivan ReitmanJohn Winger verliert seinen Job, sein Auto, seine Wohnung und seine Freundin – alles an einem Tag. Da beschließt er, dass es für ihn nur noch einen Weg gibt: Er überredet seinen Freund Russell, gemeinsam mit ihm zur Army zu gehen. Wo sonst können sie so viel zur Erhaltung der Demokratie tun und – was noch viel wichtiger ist – so leicht Mädchen kennenlernen. Nach endlosem Kleinkrieg mit ihrem Ausbilder und einem ausgeflippten Abend in einer Schlamm-Ringkampfarena mit Oben-Ohne-Damen kommen sie richtig in Fahrt. Sie stehlen ein hochgeheimes Militärfahrzeug, um zu einem Rendezvous zu kommen und landen damit nach vielen aufregenden Abenteuern hinter dem eisernen Vorhang.

Bill and Harold Remus, way before they saved NY from slime, need to do something with their lives and come up with joining the Army. How hard could it be? Turns out a healthy dose of self-determination can get the most flippant knuckleheads knuckling ahead. Encouraging... but is that good or bad? Personalities clash, gates get crashed, and a fat man gets bashed... but in a good way. Fortunately, Sean Young and P J Soles are professional M.P.s with better fitting clothes than you and me, and are determined to keep trouble to a minimum. But then there's the Bill Murray thing. John Candy assists in unit cohesion. Enjoy!
