Wir schreiben das 23. Jahrhundert.

Great reboot! But way too many lens flares JJ, it gets distracting.

I always forget how feel good this Star Trek movie is. Keep in mind, this was my first real Star Trek. I love it. The opening sequence, always makes me cry, lots of small giggles and squeezing the pillow moments. Even on a re-watch. I have seen people complain about how the engineering segments aboard the ship look (like a factory they filmed in) and I agree it is different. But suspending those comments. I think it's immersive and holds up great. Lot's of fun.

An absolute classic for sure. Rewatched this for the first time in years and I must say it didn’t disappoint. Definitely a great movie that had plenty of tension/suspense and action.

Star Trek (2009) is a bold and successful reimagining of the franchise, offering an alternate-history take that feels both respectful and invigorating. The Kelvin timeline allows the story to move fast without being constrained by decades of canon, giving new life to familiar characters while preserving their core identities. The pacing is energetic, the action exciting, and the sense of adventure unmistakably Star Trek. The cast is exceptional across the board, capturing the spirit of the original crew while making the roles their own. The evolving relationships—particularly the love triangle and the contrasting personalities of Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the bridge crew—add emotional depth and modern relevance. Bringing Leonard Nimoy back as the original Spock was a masterstroke, providing not only a powerful sense of nostalgia but also a meaningful narrative device that bridges old and new. It truly felt like a passing of the torch. This film proved that Star Trek could be reinvented for a new generation while honoring the legacy that made it iconic.

Awesome way to introduce the next generation of Star Trek fans. Far from perfect, but a LOT of fun to watch.

Near-perfect reboot. Plenty of Easter eggs for the fans of old, plenty of story for the newcomers. I've always felt that stories following a hero's journey like Captain Kirk's are only as good as the strength of their villain. And this film has quite a powerful one, where our hero has to rely on a multiverse of support to even stand a chance.

I saw this reboot in cinema back in 2009 and it was a spectacle that felt designed for the big screen. J.J. Abrams injected the franchise with blockbuster energy: rapid pacing, sweeping visuals and yes far too many lens flares. But despite the glare, the film delivered a fresh take that balanced homage with reinvention. Chris Pine’s Kirk is brash and reckless, Zachary Quinto’s Spock is stoic and conflicted and Karl Urban steals scenes as Bones with sardonic charm. Zoe Saldaña, Simon Pegg, John Cho and Anton Yelchin round out a cast that feels both respectful to the originals and lively enough to carry a new generation. Leonard Nimoy’s cameo ties it all back to the legacy, giving the reboot emotional weight. On the big screen, the hot rod Enterprise design, space battles and Nero’s black hole vengeance plot all hit harder than they ever could on TV. It’s not the cerebral Trek of old more action spectacle than philosophical exploration, but it knows exactly what kind of movie it is: a modern blockbuster meant to bring new fans aboard while still tipping its hat to the past. Lens flares aside, this was an enjoyable reboot. Stylish, energetic and cinematic, it reintroduced Star Trek with enough heart and spectacle

Movie had the extremely difficult task of updating Star Trek for a modern audience while doing justice to the original series and characters, and did about as good as you could hope for.

Full on fists to the sky moments!

I’ve always liked Star Trek, but I’m not super deep into the lore—and this reboot worked really well for me. It’s fast-paced, the cast is spot-on (Pine and Quinto especially), and it does a good job modernizing the vibe without losing all the spirit of the original. Some of the science-y stuff is a bit hand-wavy, and it leans more action than philosophy, but it’s a great way to bring Trek to a new audience. Definitely made me want to revisit more of the franchise.

I've never watched the show but this seemed entertaining enough. Could have probably casted a better villain.
