Wo Liebe endet, beginnt Chaos. Splitsville Rezensionen & Wertungen
- codypa06. März 2026Just wtf
- theonlym430. September 2025i think there is a new wave of humour that isn’t for me and this movie is one of them..
- JC27. September 2025A beautifully entertaining dumpster fire! Loved it!
- Kevin Ward11. Januar 2026My bad for sleeping on this, but this was surprisingly good. I’m not a huge rom-com fan and I’m definitely not a fan of love triangle / open-relationship drama, but I was completely won over almost immediately. Really funny. Some incredible and physical fight scenes. The four leads had excellent chemistry and comedic timing.
- Rick Masters24. September 2025I feel I really needed a disclaimer at the end clarifying that no fish were harmed in the making of this film.
- Mike Conrad14. Dezember 2025Became too predictable.
- Omer Naor13. Dezember 2025One of the best rom coms in recent years. The dynamics are awesome, lots of fun and unpredictable twists. Great endeavor by Michael Angelo Covino to write, direct and act.
- Hasti.Bozorgnia2. November 2025Don't waste your time.
- Rob Logan | The Geek Generation1. November 2025The best term I can come up with to describe Splitsville is "subtly insane," as it consistently walks a fine line between being both grounded and completely off-the-rails. Everyone's equally as charming as they are absurd, and there wasn't a single moment where I wasn't invested in the chaos. It also has one of my favorite fight scenes I've seen in a film in a long time.
- Johan Potgieter27. Oktober 2025I don't get how anyone can say they don't like this movie. It was amazing. Crazy but in the best possible way. Some may say it makes a mockery of traditional family values and I think that's the entire point. People can find the love they really need in unconventional ways, one size does not fit all. We, as humans, are way to complicated for that,
- yazdani74. Oktober 2025I think it is a very funny movie. You just have to try to enjoy it and not overthink it.
- Sam Sharp18. September 2025It has its moments. Melanie Griffith's daughter is pretty charming too.
- rg940027. September 2025Splitsville feels like almost an absurdist take on the romcom genre. The premise is outlandish, but it could have been done in a way that felt somewhat authentic. This movie makes no pretense about it being realistic. Everything that happens feels completely inorganic and unrealistic. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The characters feel like caricatures, but it leads to comedic situations. There are some genuinely funny sequences that could only work due to the absurdism and would not fit into a more grounded romcom. The problem is that it also makes it hard to actually care about the characters and their relationships. They don't react naturally but rather ot suit the needs of the plot. This means that it is very hard for the viewer to actually become invested in their messy relationship drama outside of enjoying the comedy. To some degree, the movie acknowledges this. The act cards, cleverly designed and named, highlight the silliness, and the actual dramatic moments are fairly limited. However, I do think this movie thinks it is conveying some sort of insightful message about relationships that never feels earned. Thankfully, I do not think that detracts too much from the movie because it never is afraid to lean into the comedy, and the dramatic moments do not overstay their welcome. I should note that the movie is also structured very strangely. Each act feels almost like a different movie, and sometimes it feels like a lot of time has passed between each one due to such drastic relationship changes that happen offscreen. I can easily see this being offputting, and it does feel like the movie is all over the place. For me, it fit the madcap nature of the plot and characters and even acting. Dakota Johnson is the only one doing any sort of genuine acting, but I think Adria Arjona is having a lot of fun with the over-the-top nature of her character. Kyle Marvin's acting is a bit strange in this movie, but it fits his role. The movie is at its best when it has these crazy setpieces, specifically one that takes place at around the halfway point, and they definitely elicited laughs from me. Overall, this is a strange movie to rate. I do not think it feels sincere at all, which is going to alienate the audience it is marketed towards. It has a structure that feels choppy. The acting feels stilted and over the top. Yet, all of these things also give it its own identity and lend themselves to the fun insanity of the movie. When it embraces that aspect, it is fairly fun, and it doesn't try too hard to pretend it is more than that (with a few exceptions).
- marlon111627. September 2025This movie was really funny with a lot of twists and turns.
- Spoons26. September 2025Starts like a rom-com, then veers into chaos. Open marriages, poly mess, fights in fish tanks, slapstick and heartbreak collide. Darker, funnier and far more unhinged than you’d expect.
