Donnie Darko 2 might be even more out there than the original! Big Black Mirror: White Christmas vibes Unique and mysterious! Gyllenhaal’s characters are always reassuring people that “everything’s going to be okay” [edit: he says it so much lol] Some of these lasted WAY longer than 8 minutes Would have been hilarious if he just died instantly on that last run I hope your dad doesn’t look up who Sean is! A LOT of potential for hilarity in this plot device

Pretty decent take on a time loop story. The mystery of the opening does a great job of drawing you in and makes this a mostly enjoyable watch even if the ending fizzles a little bit. Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jake Gyllenhaal, time loop, 90 minute runtime all pluses.
