Silverado

Silverado Rezensionen & Wertungen
- Plexxor the Pretty Good19. Mai 2025One of the best mythic western good guy/bad guy movies of the 80's with some stellar lines that I still quote, including a supposedly teenage Kevin Costner "All I did was kiss the girl!" Danny Glover's "I don't want to k*ll you and you don't want to be dead" and finally Brian Dennehy's "We're gonna have a fair trial followed by a first class hanging!" just great stuff with a loaded cast, including John Cleese, Jeff Fahey & Jeff Goldblum
- mickerdoo15. August 2025Extremely likable cast. But the story seemed to jump around unnaturally and what should have been the big final scene didn't thrill.
- Peter Bickford4. Dezember 2025A really terrific movie which almost singlehandedly brought the Western back from the dead. What you forget after not seeing it since it was in theaters 40 years ago is how absolutely entertaining it is: the perfect blend of 80s bravura cinema (Lawrence Kasdan, whom we remember as the writer behind the best of the Star Wars movies writes and directs) along with the entire legacy of Western storytelling.
- flavo4323. November 2025Silverado is one of those rare westerns that manages to be both wildly entertaining and wonderfully balanced. Every so often a film in the genre comes along that just clicks, and Silverado is exactly that kind of movie. It has all the classic ingredients—gunfights, sweeping frontier landscapes, outlaw trouble, a struggling town, loyal friendships, and a charismatic group of heroes—but it never pushes any of them so far that it becomes parody. Instead, it embraces the spirit of the great westerns while still feeling light on its feet and fun to watch. The ensemble cast is fantastic, each character bringing a different flavour to the story without overshadowing the others. The pacing is brisk, the action is satisfying without being grim, and the sense of adventure is infectious. It’s the kind of film that reminds you why westerns can be so enjoyable when done right. Silverado is simply a great time from start to finish.
- Richard7. Oktober 2025Big hearted Western with a stacked cast and a lot of charm. Kevin Kline plays it cool, Scott Glenn brings quiet grit, Danny Glover adds real weight and Costner’s bouncing off the walls with wild energy. They’re all different, but somehow it clicks. The movie doesn’t try to be gritty, it’s more like a love letter to classic Westerns, with just enough edge to keep it fresh. The story jumps around a bit, and not every subplot lands cleanly, but it’s got momentum. You’re here for the moments: dusty shootouts, sharp one liners and that final standoff that ties it all together. It’s not trying to be deep, it’s trying to be fun and it is. Definitely one of those Westerns that knows exactly what it’s doing and does it with style.
- willyboy6831. August 2025Nice western with a great cast. Kevin Kline practiced for months getting proficient handling a gun and riding a horse.
