Silent Hill Rezensionen & Wertungen
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ17. März 2026This creepy and fantastic film gets a riveting script by Roger Avary. It's a spectacular piece and quite scary, so many levels, so many complexities and so many wonderful themes that are permeating throughout. It's like ¨Alice in Wonderland¨ meet ¨Dante's Inferno¨. It's based on known game and completely unique, absolutely frightening and, basically, one of the few games that actually could become a movie.
- Jeremiah5. März 2026Been prob 15 or more years since I watched this. My memory that is was better than average to good. With this watch im more in the its average camp. The good is the tone and visuals, even if some of those visuals are a bit too cgi-y, but some (that include cgi) are quite good and even more important, interesting. Movie pulls no punches at times with its gore and violence and is better for it. Glad this wanst a pg 13. I played silent hill 1 fro about 30 min at one point so I really have to idea what its story is, this one isnt bad, but not extremely memorable or super satisfying. This flick is more about tone and mood and some shock and awe, for me at least.
- cultfilmliker27. Januar 2026Sooo dumb. But kind of badass? Only played the game one time (like one 30-minute session) 20 years ago and I don’t remember shit about it but the settings, dialogue, and acting were very video game like but still cinematic and I dug it. Love that she clearly sees a cop walking towards her daughter to talk to her and she just walks away. You might wanna be there for that! Then immediately gets pulled over and flees lmfao The video game maps all around town were perfect Flashlight scene was creepy but lol The VFX kinda hold up! Gruesome! The HD of this is phenomenal. Looks like it’s in 4K!
- Daniel Taylor1. Januar 2026There’s something about Silent Hill that just gets under my skin in the best way. The atmosphere is thick, unsettling, and unforgettable, and the world feels genuinely cursed rather than just scary. It’s moody, haunting, and strangely beautiful. I know it’s not for everyone, but for me it’s a film I always come back to!

- clem2k21. April 2025Best video game adaptation in my opinion.
- George24. August 2025This movie nailed the vibe. From the second they enter the town, Silent Hill feels like being trapped in a nightmare you can’t wake up from — and I mean that in the best possible way. The atmosphere is everything: fog-drenched streets, ash falling like snow, twisted creatures lurking in the dark — it’s haunting, surreal, and beautiful in that disturbing, hopeless kind of way. You feel the dread creeping in with every step. Visually, it’s one of the best video game adaptations ever made. Period. The story doesn’t hold back, either. It leans fully into the psychological horror and religious cult insanity without trying to water it down for casual viewers — which I respect. It’s not trying to explain everything to you, it just pulls you in and lets the town do what it does best: break you down. The creature design is unforgettable. Pyramid Head? Terrifying. Those nurses? Pure nightmare fuel. Every monster feels like it was ripped straight out of a tortured subconscious. And the transitions into the “dark world” are so well done — like, actually disturbing in a way most modern horror doesn’t even attempt anymore. If I had to nitpick, the pacing drags a little in places, and not every character hits — but honestly, I didn’t care. I was too caught up in the hellscape to notice. The ending? Brutal, emotional, and totally fitting. This isn’t just a horror movie. It’s an experience. It sticks with you — and if you’ve played the games, it’s packed with nods and details you’ll absolutely geek out over. 4.5/5. Creepy, twisted, beautiful horror done right. One of the few video game adaptations that actually gets it.
- Nathan Taylor-Hirst22. Januar 2026Not bad, just not that great. Looking forward to Return to Silent Hill though.
- Lord_Tulkas26. April 2025I don't know why I had the idea that this movie was BAD, maybe I'm confusing it with another (Alone in the Dark, maybe?), but I was sure I heard the movie sucked... and, as a videogame based movie, it made sense, since that's what usually happens, so I never bother to watch it... plus, I never played the game, so my interest in it was not great (this also means I'm not going to comment about the fidelity to the source material). Now, I'm not going to say it's a masterpiece, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. There are not many good horror movies, and I think this one deserves its place among them. The acting of the little girl could be better, but the rest is great, the visual effects still hold till today, and the scary scenes are awesome. All in all, a good horror movie, and that's saying much.
- Daniel Schmid11. Dezember 2025It's a nightmare in the most amazing way, this might very well be my favorite horror movie. The story is unsettling, the creatures are haunting, the sounds and music are as surreal as the rest of movie, the acting is great, the sets and VFX look incredible. Silent Hill truly is a work of art and passion. Also there's quite a few references to the games for us nerds out there. But even without recognizing those it's still a masterpiece.
- Hakihiko16. Dezember 2025An Engaging Descent into Horror "Silent Hill" is a film that succeeds largely through its atmosphere, delivering a haunting and oppressive experience that remains memorable. While it stumbles a bit in its storytelling, the sheer strength of its visuals and mood elevate it into solid, effective horror territory. The film's greatest strength is its commitment to atmosphere. The fog-covered town, industrial decay, and disturbing creature designs are brought to life with impressive care and confidence. Visually, "Silent Hill" captures the essence of the video game with remarkable fidelity, supported by an excellent use of sound design and music that amplifies the sense of unease. Narratively, the film is less consistent. The story can feel clunky at times, weighed down by heavy exposition and uneven pacing. Some character arcs lack depth, and the emotional impact doesn't always land as strongly as it should. Still, these weaknesses rarely completely derail the experience. Despite its flaws, "Silent Hill" remains a strong horror film - unsettling, visually memorable, and atmospherically rich. It may not be perfectly structured, but its dedication to mood and imagery makes it an effective and engaging descent into darkness.
- Really Cool25. August 2025The lady from the church ended up being right, she’s the good guy.
- Ashton Cole7. Juli 2025Silent Hill is a surprisingly watchable trip into the supernatural and occult. For its time, it's also surprisingly progressive for its heavily female cast of characters. It may have diverged from the game its based on, but the final product isn't too shabby. Perhaps director Christophe Gans coming back to do Return to Silent Hill is something to keep your eyes peeled for...
- DigitalDisappointment6. April 2025Even setting aside that it's 20 years old, this movie is terrible. The story makes so little sense and the random changing of gears everywhere just totally feels like a badly ported game, rather than an attempt at a movie.
