Seit der grauenhaften Mordserie in Woodboro ist ein Jahr vergangen. Die Überlebenden haben sich inzwischen weiterentwickelt: Sidney ist nicht mehr auf der Highschool, sondern auf dem College, das Buch über die Woodboro Morde der Reporterin Gale Weathers ist ganz oben auf der Bestsellerliste und wurde sogar verfilmt. Aber bei einer Sneak-Preview dieses Filmes, bei der gleich mehrere Dutzend Leute maskiert erscheinen, kommt es zu einem blutigen erneuten Mord; einem Zuschauer ist das Blut auf der Leinwand wohl noch nicht genug, oder hat die Polizei vor einem Jahr etwa jemanden übersehen?

    A good sequel that offers more of the same commentary as the original in its skewering of horror tropes. The opening in the movie theater is great and the ending is a blast.

    Was surprised that the sequel wasn't as great as the cast it was tied to. And with the same concept as the first flick, it becomes pretty predictable. Sure, we're used to that with almost every horror movie out there, but this one is far easier to read than the others.

However, a new Ghostface killer emerges, targeting Sidney and her friends while echoing the original Woodsboro murders. The story follows Sidney as she confronts the new threat and uncovers the killer’s identity. Strengths: Meta & Self-Aware: Continues the franchise’s signature satirical take on horror sequels and slasher tropes. Suspenseful: Strong tension and cleverly crafted jump scares keep audiences engaged. Return of Original Cast: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette reprise their roles effectively. Expanded Story: Explores the impact of the original killings and media attention on the survivors. Weaknesses: Derivative at Times: Some sequences mirror the first film, making parts feel predictable. Killer’s Motives: Slightly more convoluted than in the original, which may confuse some viewers. Less Groundbreaking: While still excellent, it doesn’t have the same revolutionary impact as the first film. Overall: Scream 2 is a strong and entertaining sequel that builds on the first film’s success. It balances suspense, humor, and meta-commentary while keeping Ghostface as a terrifying presence.     my confusions of university life were abundant, but after watching this film i feel myself now enlightened to the dangers of enrolling in a performing arts college. what shocked me most was not how many people were stabbed, but how the film failed to deliver any good musical numbers, despite being set in a performing arts school. actually quite realistic.

    Love the self awareness movie template talk. I must be naive because it still tricked me. Enjoyable and laughable teen thriller.

    Almost every it as enjoyable as the first. Love the Eels needle drop in the beginning. Can we get a full release of Stab? That cast is stacked.
