He uses the opportunity to make his escape. Meanwhile Larabee, an old enemy of Jane's father, Madison Clay, is killed, and The Stranger is again accused. Thinking that Salomy shot Larabee, Madison Clay takes the blame, but both he and The Stranger are acquitted when the real culprit is found. Salomy marries The Stranger.
