Paul Walker’s character isn’t the T-1000, but he’s got that same blind faith in his own survival, while the city is less a home and more a ticking time bomb. Sarah Connor would be the first to point out the warning signs, but everyone else is too busy chasing power to notice. The T-800 would be reading the map, and the T-1000 would be the only one who could survive the chaos. The movie feels like a real-world version of Terminator 2, except instead of a robot apocalypse, it’s a moral apocalypse. The shootout happens not because of a malfunction, but because the people in charge ignored every red flag, every expert, and every rule in the book. Hasta la vista, baby — because if Dyson, the T-800, the T-1000, Sarah Connor, and the mobsters of Running Scared all argued over who gets the last bullet, John Connor would be the only one left to actually survive the shootout. And honestly, at this point, I’d just let the T-1000 have it. That motherf***er can regenerate, man—let him reload his bullets.

Der Kriminelle Joey muss nach einem missglückten Deal, durch den zwei korrupte Polizisten starben, die Mordwaffe verschwinden lassen. Vorerst versteckt er sie bei sich im Keller. Was er dabei nicht ahnt: sein Sohn und dessen russischer Freund Oleg beobachten ihn dabei und letzterer steckt sie sich ein, um kurze Zeit später damit im Haus nebenan auf seinen Vater Anzor zu schießen. Alarmiert durch die Schüsse rennt Joey zu seinen Nachbarn und erfährt vom angeschossenen Mann, dass Oleg mit Joeys versteckt geglaubter Waffe die Schüsse abfeuerte und nun flüchtet. Joey macht sich sofort auf die Suche nach dem Jungen und der Waffe, damit diese die Polizei nicht auf seine Spur bringt. Doch wie der Zufall es so will, wechselt die Waffe nicht nur einmal in dieser Nacht ihren Besitzer...
