Detroit in naher Zukunft.
RoboCop Rezensionen & Wertungen
- Vincent Reggiannini16. Juni 2025In the wrong hands this could have been an utter, contemptible failure. But give this to a non-American director who initially rejected the script, and give the lead role to an actor who took himself WAY too seriously and you get one of the most iconic and memorable movies of the late 20th century. Drenched with satire and off the wall humor, and spiced up with an almost x-rated amount of violence this movie just rolls with the punches, all while delivering a poignant story about a man realizing he has lost his humanity.
- Cubanevor 4 TagenThey have a statue of this vaguely phallic metal man in Detroit despite none of the filming actually taking place there. The choice to use Dallas as a cheat location for Detroit is lazy and contemptible. It's a shame considering the great themes, action, one-liners, and hilarious campy CGI this film also has on offer.
- Guff198527. Dezember 2025One of the best action movies from the 80's. I'll Buy That for a Dollar!
- Timeless Cinema6. Mai 2025Robocop has no right to be this good. And yet, it delivers action, corporate politics, AI, sciencd fiction, comedy, and drama all into an explosive package.
- Richard4. Januar 2026Saw this one in the cinema back in the day and it absolutely burned itself into my brain, the perfect mix of satire, violence and that wonderfully grimy 080's sci‑fi aesthetic. Later owned it on VHS and DVD, because of course you do when a film hits this hard. It’s still one of the sharpest reflections on corporate greed ever put on screen, wrapped in a story that somehow manages to be brutal, funny and weirdly heartfelt all at once. And that ending with the director falling? Still hilarious.
- Nathan Aubert31. Dezember 2025Respect for a classic, but it shows it's age now. Does not read as timeless to me, but still a fun movie.
- CarbonDJ4. November 2025Forever a classic. Paul Verhoeven delivered a masterpiece. The city he built. The TV commercials (great work that I was happy to see come back in Starship Troopers). The bad guys are unforgettable. Peter Weller's Robocop is delivered with perfection.
- Stairwaytothestars29. September 2025When lead begins its frantic flight To fall is but a common plight In Robo's shadow, truth is found A finer grace than Lobo's ground.
- Paul Steele21. September 2025RoboCop is Paul Verhoeven’s first American film—and it does not disappoint. This sci-fi masterpiece may have a relatively short runtime, but it packs in an incredible amount of story and style. Peter Weller’s portrayal of Alex Murphy, a.k.a. RoboCop, is unforgettable, and his iconic look signals the changing times to come. The film is chilling at times, exploring the struggle between man and machine in ways that still feel relevant today. It’s also undeniably violent, with squib work unlike anything I’d ever seen before. I especially enjoyed the spliced news segments that give a satirical snapshot of this future world. Two main villains drive the conflict: Ronny Cox as Dick Jones, representing the greedy mega-corporation OCP, and Kurtwood Smith as the ruthless street criminal who does Jones’s dirty work. Both are formidable in their own right. RoboCop is now a cult classic and, in my opinion, has never been surpassed by any of its sequels or reboots. A truly great American debut for Verhoeven and a clear taste of the bold filmmaking he would bring to Hollywood.
- NotoriousEdge20. September 2025If they had Robocop instead of Will Smith the I robot movie is over in 5 minutes.
- Richard Thornton22. Juli 2025Funnier than I remember it. Great villain. Satire on point.
- Rowan Krzysiak11. Juni 2025A 'b-movie' this good is not easy to do. The pace is snappy, the action is gritty and most impressively, the tone is balanced with delicate precision. It's just enough (and I mean that as a compliment) but it also comes with a couple of iconic touches that are appreciated.
- Mr. D5. Februar 2025Classic in 4k TrueHD ✅️
- Emiliano21. Dezember 2024Great Movie. Robocop is the story of Jesus.
