- Goosebumpervor 7 TagenYour tolerance for this film will vary on if you enjoy shockly fantasy B-movies. If not, it's nothing special. There are some corny special effects. Shots of the city looking the most off. A lot of the acting from smaller characters and the extras reach comical levels. The main actor is super hot and fits the role. So that's something.
- Psynister25. August 2025If you go into this movie for a fun fantasy B movie experience over a pizza with your girl on the couch and the lights turned low then you’ll have a great evening! If you go into it with any sort of knowledge about the real Red Sonja and the greater world lore of the Conan universe then this movie will be a huge disappointment. But for what it was, a generic sword swing action film it was mildly good. The lead who played Sonja did a good job with what she was given, the action was entertaining, and the story was just enough to get you through the runtime without getting bored. Was this a Red Sonja movie? No. Was it a fun but forgettable watch? I’d have to say yes. Do I recommend it? I can confidently say yes to that as well.
- ርልዪረ25. August 2025I've become so used to remakes of 80's movies being bad, and this one sits right there with the others. At first appearance you can see our main character actress who plays Sonya is not made for the role she's in. They should have given the role to an unknown female bodybuilder type actor. Not a soft skinned, unscared, model type. That, right away ruined the movie for me. I continued to watch hoping the rest of the movie would make up for this, but it didn't. I felt like I was watching a bad version of the Gladiator movie. When the other characters lack depth, or originality the movie became stale, boring, and un insightful.

What I got was an Epic Adventure with many Heroes, Many Brave warriors, Mythical creatures, Kings and Mad Men, and lost children becoming all the above. Worth the watch would love to see the sequel, as long as it is as epic as this was. Fantastic Acting, Plot and, storyline. Bravo to the director and all involved.

Between the odd camera work, awkward CGI monsters, stilted dialogue, and a story that constantly lost its way, I’m not sure how this made it to market. It felt less like a film and more like an overlong episode of Xena: Warrior Princess, with a villain whose motivation boiled down to unresolved abandonment issues. The R rating is baffling. Nearly every time a battle scene built up to a killing blow, the camera cut away at the last second. Only once or twice did you actually see an arrow, sword, or axe land in a satisfying way. For a movie that clearly wanted to be gritty and epic, it played things surprisingly tame. I could feel what the director wanted this movie to be, something big, brutal, and legendary. But at nearly every step, it missed the mark. Instead of an epic sword-and-sorcery tale, it stumbled into mediocrity, delivering something forgettable at best.

It’s cheap, poorly written and not particularly well acted or directed, but somehow I still found myself entertained watching ‘Red Sonja’. It’s a tough movie to recommend as it’s clearly a bad movie, but if you don’t mind low budget cheese and you just happen to have bottle of wine or a few beers lying around you might just get a kick out of this.
- ricomckee31. August 2025Not as bad as it could have been but not as good either. The issue here is that it was mediocre. Nothing great and nothing terrible. Not much story for vengeance to truly craft the heroic warrior that is Red Sonja! Instead it is more like an environmental protest. This is not the woman on par with Conan. Some comical moments but mostly just lazy filmmaking.
- Just4Fun28. August 2025The main issue with this movie is its title, "Red Sonja." The title brings back memories of the classic films, "Conan" and "Red Sonja." In my opinion, not many movies can compare to those original classics, and I typically prefer to leave these films in the classics library. However, if you can set aside your expectations related to the title, this movie, on its own merits, is not actually bad and is worth a watch. It is quite well-made and entertaining if you're looking for something to enjoy.
