Gerade als diese eigentlich dysfunktionale Familie einigermaßen zu funktionieren scheint, lernt Mikey eine junge Frau namens Strawberry (Suzanna Son) kennen, die an der Kasse eines örtlichen Donut-Ladens arbeitet. Mikey fällt sofort wieder in seine alten Gewohnheiten zurück. Er will Strawberrys Wunsch erfüllen, ein Pornostar zu werden...

However, its narrative leans towards melancholy, centering around a protagonist whose influence in your life leads to distress. Its depiction of life in Texas for a struggling hustler is unflinchingly honest, devoid of any comforting sentiments.
- CineMono22. November 2025Rex's performance is great as is most of the casts. It feels as if Baker was unsure of how to end the film and there is no real resolution for characters. Does Rex's character learn anything? Do his actions amount to consequences, revelation, insight? Not really. As such the ending is a bit flat and anticlimactic.
