Es sollte eigentlich der schönste Tag ihres Lebens werden, denn die junge Grace steht kurz davor, ihren geliebten Alex Le Domas zu heiraten. Die Einführung in die ebenso exzentrische wie schwer reiche Familie geht allerdings alles andere als feierlich vonstatten. Anlässlich der Hochzeit gilt es für den Le-Domas-Klan nämlich allen voran, eine Tradition zu wahren. Und die besagt nun mal, dass ein neues Familienmitglied mit einem Spiel eingeführt werden soll. Und ehe sich Grace versieht, befindet sie sich in einem perfiden Katz-und-Maus-Spiel um Leben und Tod in dem riesigen Anwesen, das über das altbekannte Versteckspiel weit hinausgeht. Brutal und mit allen möglichen Waffen wird Jagd auf Grace gemacht, doch die frisch gebackene Ehefrau hat gar nicht vor, kampflos aufzugeben - und bekommt in dem unerbittlichen Kampf ums Überleben außerdem schon bald Unterstützung...

- Tiago Nazareth30. März 2025Entertaining and tense with a number of comical moments thrown in. Great comedy horror done right! It’s dark humour breaks up the gore and violence perfectly. The acting was on point and the movie never slows up, delivering a good bit of fun. It’s a great watch, and doesn’t set out to be taken seriously, so don’t listen to the non-constructive low critics. The idea felt fresh, and the actors were amazing. I enjoyed all the performances, especially those of Samara Weaving and Adam Brody. This is a Comedy/Horror and you’ll be smiling at the end of the movie, so do yourself a favour and just watch it.

So with that overshadowing the next section of the movie (viewer being ahead of our main character/heroine), it is up to the actors and the dialog/script to keep us on our toes and make this entertaining nonetheless. And the movie succeeds in doing so. I guess it could have been even better in some respects, but overall this is really good. The characters make sense (in their own universe) and the story is coherent enough (even if you may disagree with that statement during the end - I think the joke works quite well ... but that's me). Not for the faint hearted for sure ...

- James Saenzvor 7 Tagen“jesus christ, what happened to you?” “in-laws.” still really holds up, even when i know what the twists are. adam brody’s line read of “JUST COME BACK FOR IT” kills me. samara weaving is perfect in every aspect, from the comedic timing to the blood-curdling screaming. it doesn’t have anything especially poignant or new to say about rich people or their predation of lower classes, but what it does have is handled with such wit and levity.

I kind of hate the way Daniel constantly changes sides but it makes for a fun flick at least Excited to go see the second one!
- Enes Şahin31. März 2026The lead actress's performance was incredible. I wasn't bored at all from beginning to end; there was constant tension, and I wanted the girl to be rescued. It was good that she was free. The acting was good, the script didn't bore me at all, I watched it until the end. The effects were also very beautiful. Maybe there are other movies or series with similar scenarios, but this was a first for me, and I think it was good and different. The second movie just came out, I'm really curious how it will continue. I'll watch that movie today too. This movie had everything I was looking for. I don't have very high standards, but I added it to my favorites. I like these kinds of movies that aren't boring, are different, have constant tension, and feature good acting. A great job was done. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to watch it. Enjoy the movie.
