Primate Rezensionen & Wertungen
- levi420116. Januar 2026A enjoyable watch. On edge the whole time. Made me go chimp mode in the theater
- Velastraevor 5 TagenA huge disappointment. This movie had the potential to be a lot better than it was by having the characters being chased by the rabid ape through house and surrounding jungle instead of them spending the whole movie in and out of the pool.
- Hipster ZOMBIE15. Januar 2026Primate (2025) is pretty dumb, gloriously gory, and exactly the kind of midnight-movie creature feature that knows it’s throwing bananas and leans into the splatter. The setup is pure B-movie goodness: a crazed pet chimpanzee with rabies by way of a mongoose, and escalateing choas with some very stupid young adults caught in the middle. The gore lands hard and often, with wince-worthy kills that feel handcrafted for genre sickos who like their horror messy and mean. Like me. The human element is a circus of bad decisions. The kids are walking cautionary tales, and the parent (a deaf author who is about to go on a book tour) are so aggressively brain-dead you’ll forget they’re supposedly ape experts. It’s frustrating, hilarious, and oddly charming in how committed it is to stupidity. What really sells it is the score, a creepy, synth-soaked pulse that feels like a lost Goblin tape unearthed from a Dario Argento vault. Primate won’t be the best horror film of 2026, but it definitely won’t be the worst, and against all odds, you’ll probably have a damn good time watching it, I know I did.
- Patrick Wai8. April 2026More fun than it probably has any right to be, this is a brisk, bloody killer-chimp thriller that knows an easy watch beats a profound one. The plot is predictable and the creature work does not always sell the illusion — the chimp suit is a little too “guy at a very committed theme park” — but the movie makes up for it with generous gore, solid momentum, and a surprisingly decent mix of horror, family drama, Gen Z party chaos, and the added tension of a deaf single father caught in the mess. It is not reinventing anything, and you can see most of it coming, but it still works as a slick, low-effort recommendation: nasty enough for horror fans, simple enough for a casual night, and better than expected even when it is wearing its B-movie DNA on its furry sleeve.
- Luis Portugal6. April 2026Great watch. Awesome thriller made me go ape mode at home
- cursedbags12. Januar 2026Crazy Ass Monkey.
- Yahya24. Februar 2026Waste of time
- Jeanett Norgaard6. April 2026Very good
- Uncle Aaron2. April 2026One of the most predictable movies ever. Some good deaths though.
- brian65832. April 2026A family of idiots is terrorised by a small man dressed as a monkey and, despite having rabies, which causes hydrophobia, spends most of the film standing next to a swimming pool. A sequence of increasingly stupid decisions leads to some hilarious moments. Tragically, this is not a comedy.
- carter288231. März 2026Primate is a solid enough animal attack movie. The film has a simple premise but it never gets old. The score for the film is really good and really gives off John Carpenter vibes. The characters are decent but nothing special, same with the acting. The practical effects also looked really good with the look of Ben and the kills themselves. The kills were also really brutal and gory and they definitely make the film memorable. Overall it’s a solid and fun film that I will definitely be going back to often.
- Dan Hernandez29. März 2026Ben's a bad boy. It was pretty metal when the dad discovered that dude on the bed with the red light.
- Corey Burkes23. März 2026Ugh. Why? It’s one thing to think that a concept is interesting, it’s another when you think it through and realize they should’ve left it in the trash.
- Casper Hørning21. März 2026Stupid people, impossible to be this helpless.
- shirazesat12. Februar 2026A lesson in pet ownership and too much glass. Edge of seat horror that's really riveting. I tagged this high due to the quality of the story and excellent pace. Plus no-one does anything daft, like you usually see in horrors - everything is believable. I would say, though, that there's too much gore in some scenes, and I really hope high ratings for this isn't misinterpreted as a sign that gore is good. "Saw", for example, was excellent because of its concept but producers focused on gore rather than concept
