- Mister Arn18. Juni 2025“Pittsburgh”, starring John Wayne, Marlene Dietrich, and Randolph Scott, is a wartime industrial melodrama that casts Wayne against type, as a driven, coldly ambitious man rather than the typical heroic figure. The film wears its message on its sleeve: unchecked ambition without integrity leads to downfall. While the story is blunt and the characters more symbolic than fully realized, it’s worth watching as a glimpse into how 1940s Hollywood framed ambition, loyalty, and redemption against the backdrop of the industry and war.
