The horrifyingly true story of the vile repercussions of some tremendously irresponsible documentaries.

Compelling conclusion to the series. I’ve always in my head kind of wondered what the purpose of an Alford plea was. Seems like a weird dance of semantics—professing innocence but entering a guilty plea. But this film makes it obvious that it’s all about protecting the government from civil liabilities. You can’t sue for wrongful incarceration if you’ve plead guilty to the crime. I don’t know why I’ve never put that together before.
I also liked how Jason framed the irony of their situation. If they maintain their plea of not guilty, they have to stay in jail, but if they plea guilty, they get to go homy...and that is supposed constitute justice somehow.
Trying to decide whether to dive in one more time and watch the West of Memphis doc.
