- Zokkiievor 5 TagenThere’s something really fun about seeing a fantasy world where magic has basically been replaced by technology and everyone just treats mythical creatures like normal people. That idea gives the movie a lot of charm, and the brother dynamic works really well too. Ian and Barley are different enough to bounce off each other without feeling like completely opposite stereotypes, and Tom Holland and Chris Pratt are a great fit for them. It’s funny without trying too hard, and there’s a surprising amount of heart underneath all the adventure. The actual quest is probably the least interesting part for me. It follows some familiar Pixar territory and you can see where parts of it are heading, while the world itself feels like it could’ve been explored much more. Still, the emotional stuff works, especially when the story gets closer to what the brothers are really looking for. Nothing revolutionary, but it’s warm, funny and genuinely touching when it needs to be.

- TheMovieWall25. August 2026This movie should be way more popular than it is. Unfortunately this came out right before covid shutdowns and it slipped under the radar. So bummed because this movie should have all the love, Disney parks, and rides based off of it. I can just picture it now. An epic Disney ride based off of this movie's big quest! It tells a heartwarming story. The artistic direction and environmental design is wonderful. Everything has this medieval magical design to it. The attention to detail is amazing. The voice cast is awesome. You have Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Such a shame. I rewatch this regularly and it has a concrete place on The Movie Wall.

Zauber und Magie? Diese Zeiten sind lange vorbei. In New Mushroomton leben Elfen, Zwerge, Riesen, hyperaktive Hausdrachen oder streunende Einhörner heute ganz modern mit all dem technischen Schnick-Schnack unserer Zeit. Die beiden Elfenbrüder Ian und Barley sind also etwas überfordert als sie einen uralten Zauberstab ihres verstorbenen Vaters geschenkt bekommen, der das Unmögliche möglich machen soll: ein Wiedersehen! Leider klappt das dann auch nur so halb und geht über die Hose nicht hinaus. Um auch die bessere Hälfte wiederherzustellen, geht es auf einen wahnwitzigen, rasanten Trip voller versteckter Hinweise, scheinbar unlösbarer Aufgaben und witziger Wendungen. Was für ein Abenteuer!
