- Michael Geist24. August 2026Odenkirk is on fire. This is kind of a Fargo story, and just as enjoyable to me. I loved every minute of it. If you like Bob at all, just watch it.
- Jacob O’Neal21. April 2026Bob Odenkirk seems to have a good working relationship with writer Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Nobody). This time, trading in his Nobody persona for a character far less self assured. In this film he plays a career interim sheriff, floating from town to town, never rocking the boat, only staying for a few weeks at a time. The town of Normal, MN would have been just another assignment had it not been for a bank robbery that sets events in motion. This movie was fun. I don’t like it as much as Nobody, but maybe a little more than Nobody 2. I liked that you never quite knew what to expect from the film. I thought it was going to be a Wicker Man/Hot Fuzz kind of story, then it shifted. I thought it was going to be a Rio Bravo/Assault On Precinct 13 story and it shifts again. I did appreciate that about the movie. Overall, it was a fun light action movie with an actual hero and a redemption arc of sorts. That seems rare in storytelling these days, so take that for what it is.

- Ajay19. August 2026Normal is pretty... normal. It's so generic that I can't find another way to say it. You get a cop in a small town who happens to fall into some conspiracy, and that's it. Odenkirk is decent, but I can't really tell since there's not much in the way of character development. One thing though - the action sequences aren't special, but it definitely cranks up the blood and viscera, which is really nice.
